500 Indigenous deaths since the Royal Commission

Updated data released in late 2021 confirms the deaths in custody crisis is even worse than we thought.

But this isn't just a horrifying number. This is 500 people who needlessly lost their lives. 500 families let down by the police and prison system since the Royal Commission in 1991. Who knows how many lives were taken before then.

While the Royal Commission's recommendations gather dust on a shelf, our people continue to die. When will our governments do what is needed to keep us safe?
